TeenFlix Film Contest (All Day)

(Going into grades 6-12) DVD Entry Due: Friday, August 1. Film Screening: Friday, August 22, 3:00 p.m. Are you an aspiring actor or director? Here's your chance to show off your talent! Create a movie under 12 minutes long on any subject, suitable for a family audience, and including a scene filmed at the library, to be eligible for our contest. Re-design a Book Cover Contest (All Day)

(Going into grades 6-8) Give a favorite book a makeover by re-designing the front cover. Submitted entries will be displayed in the Teen Zone, where you are invited to vote for your favorite book cover creation. Entry forms available in Young People's Services.

Studio 505: Photo Contest (All Day)

(Going into grades 9-12) Snap a captivating digital photo and email it to the library between June 2 - August 1 for our photo contest. All entries will be added to our online and library galleries. The winner will receive a gift card!

Garden Tales (12:00 PM)

(All ages with adult) Spread a blanket and bring a picnic lunch to enjoy during storytime in our beautiful Children's Garden. Stories begin at 12:15 p.m. No registration is required. Program will be canceled if it is raining.

(Ages 2-5 with adult) Perfect for families that make impromptu visits to the library, this drop-in storytime is filled with stories, fingerplays, and songs. Siblings are welcome if they do not cause a distraction. No registration required. Program repeated at 11:00 a.m.

(Adults, young adults & teens) Award-winning photojournalist Geroge LeClaire will demonstrate principles for taking great pictures no matter what type of camera you own. Bring your camera!
